Special Subjects

Physical education is required for all students in grades PK-4 through eighth. The goal of St. Agnes Academy's physical education program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, values, and enthusiasm to maintain a healthy lifestyle into adulthood.

The activities included in this program are designed to promote physical fitness, to develop motor skills, and to instill knowledge and understanding of rules, concepts, and strategies. Students learn to work as part of a team or as individuals in a wide variety of competitive activities.

St. Agnes Academy offers Varsity volleyball, Junior and Varsity soccer, intramural basketball, Varsity flag football and cross country as after-school activities through the All Catholic Conference. Athletes compete against other Archdiocesan schools.

The sports program has been very successful, winning championships in flag football and Varsity soccer since 2006. St. Agnes Academy also participates in the annual President's Challenge Physical Activity and Awards program that is sponsored by the President's Council on Fitness and Sports. The physical education content area establishes the competencies and skills necessary for students to be physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially educated.
